Printing & Stationery Department is basically under the control of Industries, Energy and Labour Department of the Government of Maharashtra. It is a service Department which is necessary for General Management of the Government administration. But for optimum Utilization of the Government Printing Presses and with an intention to make aware of the financial implication to the Government Departments which send the work to the Printing Presses, the Government has declared the Government Printing & Stationery Department as commercial Department.
The Government has established Printing & Stationery Department for the following purpose: • Discharge the function of Printing & binding work of the Government of Maharashtra. • Printing of Maharashtra Government Gazettes, Acts, Rules, Report, Maps Scientific Publication and Sale of Books on the Subjects of Social and Cultural etc. • Supply of Stationery, drawing materials, uniform, cloths Umbrellas, Bicycles and Wall clocks, Alarm clocks, Cyclostyling Machines and Government publication. • Repairs to Typewriting Machine, Cyclostyling Machine bicycles, clocks and alarm clocks and every Quarter over hauling of the typewriting machines. • The Director, Government Printing & Stationery Department is head and in regard to the above subjects he has power all over state.
