Part-A:
1. Write the real and imaginary parts of the complex number z = 5+4i.

Part-B:

1. Find the number which where divided by 16, 20 & 40 leaves the same remainder 4.

2. Prove that 13 is an irrational number.

3. If f(x) = 2x + 1 & g(x) = x2 + 2x + 1, find fog(x) and gof(x)

4. Solve for x : log(x) + log(x + 1) = log 2.

5. The 3rd term of an A.P is -11 & its 14th term is -44. Find its 20th term.

6. Insert 3 geometric means between 4 & 64.

7. 2 numbers are in the ratio 5 : 6. If 4 is subtracted from each term, their ratio becomes 3 : 4. Find the

numbers.

8. IfA={3, 5, 7), B = {5, 7,9}, C = {7,9, 11} then find (AB) (BOC).

9. If 3x = 5y = 15-, show that z(x + y) = xy.
