When or why should I freeze my account?
If you notice any suspicious activity in your Groww account, like receiving an unexpected OTP on your mobile or email, or confirmation of an order you didn’t place, follow these steps:
1. Log Out of All Devices:
Go to the Settings menu under the Privacy and Security section to check all the devices logged in with the account. You can choose to log out of some or all devices.
2. Change Your PIN:
Your Groww account is protected by two factor authentication, with your PIN being one of the factors. Secure your account by updating your Groww PIN from the Settings option under Privacy and Security.
3. Change Your Password:
If you think someone else has your login details and is accessing your account, change your password in Settings under Privacy and Security.
4. Change Your Email Password:
Update the password for the email linked to your Groww account. If you’re still worried, you can temporarily freeze your account to prevent any online activity.
What happens when I freeze my account?
Here’s what happens within 15 minutes of your request to freeze your Groww account:
1. No Online Access: Once frozen, no one, including you, can access your Groww account and holdings online.
2. Order Cancellations: Any pending unexecuted orders for stocks and F&O will be canceled.
3. SIPs Continue: Mutual Fund SIPs and any open positions will continue until their expiry.
How do I unfreeze my Groww account?
When you are sure about the security of your Groww account, follow these steps to unfreeze it:
Step 1: Call us at +91-8951778720 from your registered phone number and follow the instructions to place an unfreeze request.
Step 2: Our team will call you to schedule a Video KYC (VKYC) process to authenticate your identity.
Step 3: You will receive a video call link on your registered email. Join the call at the scheduled time with your physical PAN card handy.
Step 4: After successful identity authentication during the VKYC call, your Groww account will be unfrozen. It’s recommended to reset your email password before logging in.
Step 5: Log in to your Groww account and reset your PIN for added security.
