Lesson 1.1 : A Visit To The Farm-I Learning Outcomes: The students will be able to: • name the farm animals and their homes. • recite the poem “Wonderful Sea”. • use ‘am’, ‘is’ and ‘are’ in sentences.
Teaching Learning Materials: • Pictures, • Charts, • Flash cards, • QR Code videos and materials to play the videos, • Black board, Chalks in different colours, • Text book.
Teacher Contact Time: Motivation: • The students will be motivated by “Let us recall” activity given on Text Book page No. 51. • The students may also be motivated by practising the vocabularies given in the “Look and say” activity given in the Text Book page Nos. 52 and 53.
Content Transaction: • The teacher will sing the poem “Wonderful Sea” with actions. The students will be asked to do the actions first and then follow the poem. • The teacher will explain the theme of the poem and tell about the various aquatic animals. • The teacher will explain about to use ‘am’, ‘is’ and ‘are’ in sentences given on Text Book page No. 59 with many examples.
Students Activity Time: Peer Group Activities: • The teacher will ask the students to recite the poem “Wonderful Sea” in group. • The teacher will ask the students to read aloud the sentences given under the topic “Let us practice” given in the Text Book page No. 60. • The teacher encourage the students to work in pairs and present in groups.
Individual Activities: • The teacher will help the students to do the activity given under. “Let us practice” given on Text Book Page No. 60. • The teacher will help the students to present their activities. • Students are asked to write the learnt matters in their low level boards.
Reinforcement: • The content with the above learning outcomes may be taught once again to the late bloomers.
