Passport Seva Surrender Certificate
A Surrender Certificate is issued to applicants willing to surrender their passport at Passport Offices mainly for renunciation of Indian citizenship and acquiring foreign nationality. This is a chargeable miscellaneous passport service and can be availed after applying for Surrender Certificate through Passport Seva Website (www.passportindia.gov.in), and later visiting the Passport Office with the required documents.
Apply For Passport Seva Surrender Certificate Online
Step 1: Register through the Passport Seva Online Portal. (Click on “Register Now” link on the Home Page).
Step 2: Login to the Passport Seva Online Portal with the Login ID created in Step 1.
Step 3: Click “Apply for Surrender Certificate” link.
Step 4: Fill in the required details in the form and submit.
Step 5: Take the printout of filled application form through the “View/Print Submitted Form” link available on the View Saved/Submitted Applications page.
Step 6: Bring printed application form, self-attested photocopies and original documents (e.g. Passport and Proof of Foreign Nationality etc.) while visiting the Passport Office (PO) corresponding to your present address for submitting your application.
Passport Seva Surrender Certificate e-Form Submission
Step 1: Download the e-Form through the “Download e-Form” link available on the Home Page.
Step 2: Fill the downloaded e-Form and click the Validate and Save button in it.This will generate an XML file, which will be required later for uploading in the system.
Step 3: Register through the Passport Seva Online Portal. (Click on “Register Now” link on the Home Page).
Step 4: Login to the Passport Seva Online Portal with the registered Login Id.
Step 5: Upload the XML file (generated in Step 2) through the “Upload e-Form” link.Do not upload the PDF form at this stage as only XML file is accepted by the system.
Step 6: Take the printout of filled application form through the “View/Print Submitted Form” link available on the View Saved/Submitted Applications page.
Step 7: Bring printed application form, self-attested photocopies and original documents (e.g. Passport and Proof of Foreign Nationality etc.) while visiting the Passport Office (PO) corresponding to your present address for submitting your application.
