What is Special Intensive Revision [SIR]?

The Special Intensive Revision [SIR] is a comprehensive, door-to-door verification and updating of electoral rolls (voter lists) conducted by the Election Commission of India (ECI). Its primary objective is to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the voter list before major elections, thereby ensuring that every eligible citizen is included and ineligible entries (such as deceased, duplicate, or non-citizen names) are removed.

How To Fill SIR 2026 Enumeration Application Form Online?

Visit www.voters.eci.gov.in to fill SIR 2026 Enumeration Application Form Online. The SIR activity starts from 4th November 2025 and will end-up with publication of Final electoral roll on 07.02.2026.

(a) The Booth level Officers (BLOs) will visit each house hold and distribute the pre-printed Enumeration forms in duplicate to the existing electors and guide them in filling up the form.

• The electors will have to file the relevant details in the Enumeration forms and the filled in Enumeration form will be collected by the Booth Level Officers during the subsequent visit.

• The Booth level officer will collect the forms and keep one copy of the Enumeration form with him/her and give an acknowledgement of receipt of form on the other copy of Enumeration Form, which is to be retained by the elector.

(b) The Elector can also fill the Enumeration Form online and submit for which provision is provided in the ECI website https://voters.eci.govi.in. An online search facility is available to enable electors to search their details in SIR 2002/2005. Further information on this facility is provided under FAQ No. 7.

c) Booth Level Officers will also provide Form-6 along with declaration form for enrolment of new electors, if required.

d) The Booth Level Officer will make at least 3 visits to the house of each elector

1. House to House Enumeration 04.11.2025 (Tuesday) to 04.12.2025 (Thursday)
2. Publication of draft electoral roll On 09.12.2025 (Tuesday)
3. Period of filing claims & objections 09.12.2025 (Tuesday) to 08.01.2026 (Thursday)
4. Notice Phase (Issuance, hearing & verification); decision on Enumeration Forms and disposal of claims and objections to be done concurrently by the EROs 09.12.2025 (Tuesday) to 31.01.2026 (Saturday)
5. Final Publication of Electoral Roll On 07.02.2026 (Saturday)
