Shree Vijayalakshmi Charitable Trust [SVCT] was established in the year 1990 in the city of Coimbatore which is located in the Southern part of Tamil Nadu. The Trust was established by Shri O. Armugasamy the Chairman of M/s. Senthil Group of Companies, Coimbatore in fond memory ofhis wife late Tmt. Vijayalakshmi. Shree Vijayalakshmi Charitable Trust, since its inception has been rendering yeoman service in the field of Education, Health Care and Social Upliftment of the poor.
SVCT Educational Scholarship To Meritorious Students
Assistance to meritorious students who pass in 10th standard (SSLC) to pursue their studies for 11th and 12th standard (HSc) and also for the students who have passed 12th standard ( HSc ) to pursue their under graduation for arts and professional courses by way of cash awards to assist them for continuing further education
• In the year 2012 – Rs. 83 Crores has been disbursed to more than 75,000 students • Last 4 years – Rs.175 Crores has been disbursed to more than 1.5 lakh students
The Trust runs a Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Sirumugai in Coimbatore District: • Provides totally free education for 2500 students’ right from Classes LKG to Classes XII. The School does not charge any fee from the students and it is being run purely as free for education for the rural students • This school produces meritorious students hailing from rural area out of whom some of the students have passed meritoriously in District and State level • The trust spends Rs.1.3 Crores annually for this school towards recurring and non-recurring expenditure The Trust renders financial assistance for Health Care: Contribution to Government General Hospital for purchase of life saving medical equipment for Rs.64 lakhs • The Trusts spends an amount of Rs.1 Crore annually, towards the maintenance and cleanliness of the Government General Hospital, Coimbatore • Trust conducts Blood donation camps, so far trust has donated about 1500 units of blood to the Government General Hospital, Coimbatore • Trust is regularly conducting free medical aid camps for Eye and Dental treatments at rural areas • A donation ofRs.50 lakhs to Sri Kanchi Kamakodi Medical Trust for their “GIFT OF VISION” Project • Contribution for purchase of ambulances for the people residing in rural areas
The Trust renders support towards the Government Initiatives: • The Trust has contributed Rs.106 Lakhs towards Tsunami Relief Fund in the financial year to the Government of Tamilnadu in favour of Honourable Chief Minister’s Public relief fund • Rs.124 lakhs during the financial year towards Thane cyclone relief fund to the Government of Tamilnadu in favour of Honourable Chief Minister’s Public relief fund • The Trust initiated action in the villages around Mettupalayam as part of Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam’s Project “PURA”
